Matthew Francis is the firm’s general English law expert. Thanks to a varied legal background both as a barrister and solicitor, which has taken in everything from local government law, commercial and residential property, construction litigation and arbitration, international finance, pure dispute resolution and commercial work, Matthew can draw on a broad base of experience to provide English legal expertise for a variety of our Hungarian clients with business interests in the UK or where English law is the law governing their business dealings anywhere.

In addition, he is also able to provide British clients with his distinct take on the Hungarian market and business world.

He is native in English, and conversant in Hungarian.

  • Co-author of a chapter about hedge fund activism which appears in "Hedge Funds: A Practical Global Handbook to the Law and Regulation", published by Globe Law and Business in 2012 and 2018.
